Puri: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced relief package for the cyclone Fani-ravaged Puri district.
After reviewing the relief and restoration work in the cyclone-hit district in the presence of Chief Secretary Aditya Padhi, Puri Collector Balwant Singh and Puri SP Uma Shankar Dash here today, the Chief Minister announced relief package for the district.
As per the announcement, each cyclone-hit family will receive 2.5 litres of kerosene free of cost every 10 days till power supply has been restored.
More than 10 lakh candles will also be distributed in the cyclone-ravaged areas of the holy town.
Every affected family will also receive 50 kg rice including those without ration cards and free sanitary pads for two months, Naveen said.
More than 10,000 workers have been engaged in the restoration work in Puri district and power supply will be resumed to the district very soon, the CM said.
He further said that Puri Town, Nimapara and Konark NACs will get power supply by tonight in a phased manner.
