BJD Condemns Murder of BJP Leader, Demands Action against Perpetrators

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday strongly condemned the brutal killing of a BJP leader in Khorda district last night and demanded strong action against the perpetrators.

In a press conference, the BJD said that the party and its supremo Naveen Patnaik believe that there is no place for violence in democracy.
The BJD always respects the democratic values and supports for the free and fair elections in the State.

Odisha is a peaceful state during the BJD rule since 2000, the party spokespersons Lelin Mohanty, Dr. Sasmit Patra, Priyadarshi Mishra and Sulochona Das said in the conference.

The incident like this was taking place in Odisha due to the influence of violent culture of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. It was also seen during the Bijepur by-poll last year when Minister Susanta Singh’s brother was attacked and a BJD worker was also killed in the violence, the BJD alleged.

The BJD also urged the Election Commission and the police to expedite probe and arrest the perpetrators.
