BJP Spreading Rumors, Misinformation Through Bogus Intelligence Reports: BJD

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today accused the BJP of spreading rumors and disinformation on social media and other platforms by publicizing bogus intelligence reports.

Addressing a press conference here, BJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Keshari Deb said that there is no such political desk in the Odisha Police Intelligence unit.

The fake intelligence report has been orchestrated by the BJP to manipulate the people in Odisha, just like the saffron party did during the Karnataka assembly elections last year, Deb said while showing the bogus intelligence reports.

The BJD will also raise the issue before the Odisha Chief Electoral Officer, the spokesperson said.

Instead of spreading false information, if the BJD has guts to fight, then it should fight with truth, he further stated.

The BJD’s response came a day after the Odisha police initiated legal action against the state unit of the saffron outfit for allegedly producing fabricating document on Hinjili assembly constituency.
