Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced the first candidate list for the ensuing general and assembly elections. In a significant decision, Naveen announced that Pramila Bisoi will be the candidate from Aska Parliamentary constituency.
Naveen said the decision to nominate Pramila Bisoi is a tribute to the 70 lakh Women SHG groups of the State.
He said, “Two decades ago I launched my parliamentary career from Aska parliamentary constituency; now the candidate is a tribute to the 70 lakh Women SHGs in our state.”

Pramila Bisoi is the president of Satsang Self Help Group from Nalabanta village.
The Self Help Groups in Odisha have turned in a movement by empowering lakhs of women.
Odisha Government’s initiatives to strengthen them have resulted in the economic upliftment of millions of women and their families. Naveen’s decision shows that he is and will be working for the development women.
