Two Maoists Gunned Down in Encounter on Odisha-Andhra Border

Bhubaneswar: At least two Maoists were gunned down in an exchange of fire with security forces on the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border early this morning.

As per reports, the red rebels were killed in an encounter with troops of 198 Battalion CRPF and the Andhra Pradesh police at Pedabayalu in the Visakhapatnam district.

A CRPF personnel also sustained injuries in the operation, sources said.

Two rifles have been seized from the spot, sources added.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the red corridors to ensure smooth and incident-free polls.
