Shashi Kumar Sahoo Quits BJP, Returns to BJD

Balasore: In a further jolt to the BJP, Shashi Kumar Sahoo, a key leader from Simulia in Balasore district, quit the saffron party and returned back to the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) fold ahead of elections.

Sahoo, who left the BJD before 2014 elections and had unsuccessfully contested assembly election on BJP ticket from Simulia in Balasore district, rejoined the ruling party in the presence of Balasore BJD district president.

As per sources, Sahoo had expressed his strong displeasure over the induction of Congress leader Padmalochan Panda into the saffron party in October 2018.

Besides it, Sahoo does not enjoy good rapports with the Dharmendra camp in the Odisha BJP, which might be another reason for his leaving the saffron party.
