Elections 2019: BJP Urges EC to Declare West Bengal a 'Sensitive' State

New Delhi: The BJP has appealed the Election Commission to declare West Bengal a 'sensitive' state in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

A BJP delegation met the EC on Tuesday and urged the election body to treat all Bengal polling booths as 'super sensitive' during 2019 elections due to its 'history of violence'.

The BJP delegation demanded that central forces should be deployed at all poll stations in Bengal, which will elect 42 members for Lok Sabha.

In 2014 general elections, the Trinamool Congress won 34 seats, the Congress got 4, while the BJP and the CPI(M) bagged two seats each.
