New Delhi: At least nine Pakistani soldiers have been killed and 11 injured in a suicide attack on a Pakistan Army convoy near Balochistan. The incident happened just 3 days after the Pulwama suicide terror strike in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were martyred on 14 February.
Pakistan’s Balochistan Liberation Front and Baloch Republican Guards have claimed the responsibility for the attack between Turbat and Panjgur as per a report in The Balochistan Post.
The suicide terror attack happened few hours before Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Pakistan.
The incident comes at a time where there are heightened tensions in India and Pakistan after the suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir in which a terrorist rammed an SUV with explosives into a CRPF convoy in which 40 troopers were martyred.
According to reports, the attack was carried out by terrorists operating from Pakistani soil. Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
On the other hand Iran's Revolutionary Guards has accused "Pakistan's security forces" of supporting the perpetrators of a suicide attack that killed 27 of its soldiers on 13 February.
