Phulbani: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched a slew of development projects worth Rs 234 crore for the people of Kandhamal District.
During his one-day visit to this tribal-dominated district, the Chief Minister inaugurated 19 welfare projects worth Rs 57 crore. These projects include 300-seated two boys and girls’ hostels for Phulbani Autonomous College, 300-seated girls’ hostel for Sanjay Memorial Women's College, Anwesha hostels in Phulbani, G. Udayagiri and Tikabali, modernized and expanded spices processing unit in Kandhamal, district panchayat resource centre and Phulbani District Library.
Naveen also laid foundation stones for 47 development projects worth Rs 177 crore. Some of these projects are 8 high level bridges in Chakapad, Khajuripada, Tikabali, Daringbadi, Balliguda and Kotagarh; 14 rural pipe water supply projects, 10 developed high schools, expansion of pipe water supply project in G.Udayagiri and development of Baliguda NAC project, and 50 bed facility at Balliguda sub-divisional hospital.
The CM also attended the Regional Meet of Biju Yuva Vahini and addressed a public gathering where he apprised people about various public welfare programs undertaken by his government recently.
