Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly Narasingha Mishra today slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central Government alleging that it has failed to keep the promises made before the formation of the government in 2014.
The BJP had promised to create two crore new jobs every year in its poll manifesto during the last general elections. The promise has been forgotten now. Similarly, Modi’s promise of Rs 15 lakh deposit to every Indian bank account has not been fulfilled, Mishra told the Assembly in the ongoing Budget session.
Accusing the Modi government of weakening constitutional bodies, the senior Congress leader said that the Indian democracy is now under threat and there has been growing apprehension regarding free and fair conduct of the elections.
The political scenario has been fast changing at the national level. The Modi government can no more fool the people, he said while adding that they will give a befitting reply to the BJP in the upcoming elections.
