Bhubaneswar: The legislators of Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal on Friday submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India through the Governor expressing concerns over the unemployment issue and the Modi Government’s neglect towards Odisha.
The BJD MLAs today marched out of the Assembly in a rally to the Raj Bhavan and submitted the memo to Odisha Governor Prof Dr Ganeshi Lal.
In 2014 poll manifesto, the BJP had promised to provide employment to two crore unemployed youths of the country every year. Accordingly, Odisha’s share is proportionately 36 lakh unemployed youths in five years. Hence, we are submitting today a memorandum to the President of India through the Governor, said BJD MLA Sanjay Das Burma to the media.
He said, “We demand that the Central Government should publish the list of 36 lakh youths of Odisha who have been employed in MCL, NALCO, IOCL, etc all the Centre-run PSUs.”
The BJD leader said that the party would intensify the agitation by taking it to the state-level as the Centre has been allegedly deceiving the youths and workforce of the State.
