Boiled Eggs to Be Reintroduced in MDM in Bhubaneswar Schools

Bhubaneswar: Eggs in the mid-day meal (MDM) for schools in Bhubaneswar will be reintroduced, informed Bhubaneswar Block Education Officer (BEO) Sasmita Mali today.

As per the Odisha Government’s decision, school children will be provided eggs twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday in their mid-day meal, said Mali.

As many as 50,000 students of 267 schools in Bhubaneswar will be provided boiled eggs twice in a week and the eggs will be supplied at Rs. 5 each from the BEO office to the schools.

Notably, the State Government had stopped supply of eggs to schools in Bhubaneswar in 2016.

Under the Integrated Child Development Scheme, the Odisha Government was providing five eggs per week for children below the age of six in anganwadis and two eggs per week at government schools.
