Khandagiri Mela to Begin from Feb 12

Khandagiri Mela to Begin from Feb 12

Bhubaneswar: The annual Khandagiri Mela will begin at the foothills of famous Khandagiri and Udayagiri in Bhubaneswar from 12 February. To ensure maximum participation of traders and craftsmen, the fair will be organised for 10 days. The Mahotsav will have hundreds of stalls of various food items, home décor, crafts and traditional things.

In view of the huge footfalls during the mela, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the fair, informed BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena in a meeting.

CCTV cameras will be installed from Khandagiri Chowk to Jayadev Vatika. Medical team for emergencies, 24 hours cleanliness and drinking water facility will be made in the Maotsav ground. Separate stall will be there of National Health Mission for free medical check-up.

For the traffic safety and to avoid any road accident, strict restriction will be imposed on Jatra hoardings. To maintain law and order in the mela ground Commissionerate police will make adequate security arrangements.
