Bargarh: The world famous Dhanu Jatra of Bargarh is all set to begin from today.
Preparation for the 11-day festival is almost completed for the 70th Dhanu Jatra. Starting from stage to artist and administration to entire district is ready to celebrate the mythological Krhisna Leela and Mathura Vijay.
During the 11-day festival, the entire Bargarh town will be transformed into Mathura, the kingdom of Kansa. While, Jeera river will turn into Yamuna River, Amapali, which is located on the outskirt of the town will become the mythical land of Gopapura.
During the festival, all the powers of the administration will be curbed by king Kansa. He rules the entire district.
Rangamahal, has been constructed at Nishamani School ground. Whereas, Kansha Darbar is another attraction in this year of Dhanu Jatra. A 122 ft. high and 70 ft. wide golden darbar is beautifully decorated with flower, light, and thermocol sheets. Artists are now busy in giving final touch to the stage.
Dhanu Jatra committee President Indramani Tripathy and Bargarh S.P. Mukesh Bhamoo are personally taking care of all properness of the 11-day festival.
For the smooth functioning of the entire festival and to maintain law and order in the entire district 465 police personnel have been deployed.
Sources in the police department said, 2 additional SPs, 8 DSPs, 14 inspectors, 35 sub-inspector, 57 ASIs, 22 habildars, 128 constables, 200 home guards, and 40 section police personnel will be deployed in the entire district. Movement of four-wheelers will be restricted in Gandhi Chaak, Lengu Mishra Chhak, Bandu Tikkra, and Bus Stand Chaak.
