Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has extended his support to people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) on World AIDS Day today.
Patnaik took to his Twitter handle and said, "Let's pledge to prevent stigma & marginalization to ensure a life with dignity."World AIDS Day is being observed every year on December 1, with the aim to make people aware of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and support people living with it.
People with HIV/AIDS can lead a healthier life and contribute positively to society with life-saving medicines and access to quality healthcare system. The World AIDS Day, which started in 1988, was the first ever global health day.
The international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
